Hunter education classes are scheduled in October in Pagosa Springs.
The first class is set for Oct. 16 and 17; the second class is scheduled for Oct. 30 and 31.
Classes are held 5:30-10 p.m. on Thursdays and 8 a.m.-5 p.m. on Fridays.
Students must attend both Thursday and Friday.
The sessions take place at the San Juan Mounted Patrol Building at 302 San Juan St.
Cost is $10 per student.
These courses will be open to anyone wishing to obtain a hunter safety card. If you were born on or after Jan. 1, 1949, you are required to have a hunter safety card before purchasing a hunting license.
These will be the last classes taught in Pagosa Springs in 2014.
Students should register online prior to the class. To register, go to wildlife.state.co.us/hunting and click on “Hunter Education.” Then click on “find a course at a place and time to fit your schedule” at the top of the page and follow the directions.
