Pagosa Springs Police Department personnel are investigating an apparent murder-suicide that took place Sunday morning.
The incident took place at approximately 11:30 a.m. Sunday at a home on Oren Road in Pagosa Springs, said PSPD Officer Floyd Capistrant.
Upon arriving at the home, Capistrant said PSPD personnel found a male, female and dog deceased, all of apparent gunshot wounds.
The female, identified as Pamela Jean Bono, 71, was found in the home’s kitchen, dead of a single gunshot wound. The male, identified as Robert Bono, 78, was found on a back deck with a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
The couple’s dog was also shot and killed, Capistrant said.
An employee who worked for the couple found them and reported the incident, Capistrant said.
The officer also said a note was found at the residence, but the department is not releasing the content of the note.
Capistrant said the investigation is continuing.
