The efforts to restart an economic development organization in Pagosa Country, led by Ed Morlan from the Region 9 Economic Development District of Southwest Colorado, were called into question by commissioner Michael Whiting at Tuesday morning’s joint work session of the Pagosa Springs Town Council and the Archuleta County Board of County Commissioners.
Whiting referred to a letter to the editor Morlan wrote in last week’s SUN and argued, “Saying that he asked for and received permission from the town and the county to assume a leadership role in restarting is a gross overstatement. We’ve never met on the subject at the BoCC to discuss or decide. We haven’t had a meeting on the subject and I don’t think the town council has, either.”
