Updated at 7:45 p.m.

A 1.5-acre fire that began shortly before 1:30 p.m. south of Pagosa Springs was considered fully contained by about 4:15 p.m. Monday.

The fire is believed to have started with a lawnmower and burned a small ATV trailer, said Christina Marquart, Archuleta County’s deputy director of emergency management. The fire was located off of County Road 500 (Trujillo Road), near mile marker 17.

County crews will continue to monitor the fire over the coming days until it is deemed out.
