Special to The PREVIEW

The steering committee for Southwest Rural Philanthropy Days is urgently appealing for any service organizations or individuals in Pagosa Springs that can assist with various volunteer hospitality and logistical roles for the upcoming conference to be hosted in Pagosa Springs June 11-13.

Pagosa will be in the spotlight during the  375-delegate conference of funders, grantseekers and government officials from the wider Southwest region and the Front Range. This is an opportunity for Pagosa to showcase its talents and skills, and more importantly, however, is a chance to pledge for much-needed grant funding for our town and our nonprofits.

Volunteer tasks include set up and tear down of the entertainment venues (Reservoir Hill, Town Park, high school and community center) in various time blocks from Tuesday, June 11 to Friday, June 13. There are also positions in hospitality for serving meals and cleanup on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday during the conference. There is a need for assistance with moving equipment and infrastructure (specifically chairs and tables) from one venue to the other throughout the week. Finally, on Friday afternoon, help is required to return borrowed items to their owners.

Please help us put Pagosa Springs on the map and stage a seamless event that we can all be proud of.

If you are a service organization or individual who can assist, please contact volunteer coordinator Lynne McCrudden pagosagirl@gmail.com or SWRPD event coordinator Kristi Smith at (402)417-3585 or southwestrpd@gmail.com to help.
