The XTERRA Turkey Track Trail Race will be held Saturday, June 7. Race start times are 8 a.m. (half and full marathons) and 10 a.m. (5k and 10k).

Turkey Track is an old mountain classic half- and full-trail marathon in its sixth year. Now part of the XTERRA Colorado Trail Run Series, this year 5k and 10k distance have been added allotting as much time as you need in order to encourage runners of all abilities to hit the trails.

Staged in the spectacular Turkey Springs area, you’ll run on single track almost 100 percent of the race. With the start at 8,000 feet in altitude, you’re in for incredible mountain vistas and pristine mountain air as you follow the edges of dynamic canyons, run through ponderosa and aspen forests and your share of roots, rocks, turkeys and perhaps a little bit of mud. This run has mellow elevation gain, less than 1,500 feet — the ideal early season layout. It’s really the perfect transition from a road to a trail race.
