Town, county working together; considering sales tax increase

The more things change, the more they stay the same.

Something happened last Friday that has not happened in a long time — the Pagosa Springs town council welcomed all three members of the Archuleta County Board of County Commissioners, along with county administrator Bentley Henderson, to the council chambers in Town Hall for a joint work session, where one of the main items on the agenda was figuring out how the two bodies will work more closely together in the future.

“Well, since this is the Town Hall,” mayor Don Volger began the meeting, “and we are in our house, I will defer to the chairman of the Board of County Commissioners, Clifford Lucero, who will chair this meeting.”
