CDOT worker injured in hit-and-run incident

The Colorado State Patrol is seeking information regarding a hit and run incident that involved a pedestrian.

According to a CSP press release, at approximately 3 a.m. on Dec. 2, a 55-year-old Colorado Department of Transportation employee was walking outside of his truck removing rocks from the roadway at milepost 116 on U.S. 160, on the east side of Yellowjacket Pass between Pagosa Springs and Bayfield, when he was struck by a pickup truck.

According to the CSP release, the man was struck by a light-colored pickup truck heading westbound on the highway and was knocked to the ground.

The pickup truck left the scene without stopping, and the employee suffered minor injuries.

Anyone with information on the hit and run is asked to contact CSP’s Durango office by calling 385-1675.

CDOT declined to release the identity of the victim.
