September shows sales tax continues on upswing

This year’s unusually late and heavy monsoon season, which caused some flooding and washed out a few roads in Pagosa Country this fall, doesn’t appear to have had any adverse effect on the local economy.

In fact, sales tax revenue received last week for the month of September totaled $618,690.07, an increase of $21,839.46 or 3.66 percent over 2012, according to a report from LeeAnn Foutz from the Archuleta County Finance Department.
