School board meeting features noise, confusion and conflict

The Archuleta School District Board of Education held a special meeting Tuesday night, and while the discussion turned out to be rather mundane, the timing of the meeting and confusion over the wording in the agenda caused quite a bit of concern amongst the board’s critics.

After nearly an hour and a half, board president Linda Lattin opened the meeting up to public discussion, at which point Bruce Dryburgh, who is running for a seat on the board, stood up and said, “I hope this is the last meeting where, if you’re sitting in the last row, you can’t hear everybody. If you need another microphone, let’s buy one. I’ve been sitting in the back and it was terrible to try and hear what’s going on.”
