The Archuleta County Fair starts today and there are activities and events for all ages.

We’ll have all of the fair favorites with 4-H and Open Class entries on display in the Exhibit Hall, the Horse Show on Friday, the Ranch Rodeo on Saturday and the Kid’s Rodeo on Sunday.

Some other events you don’t want to miss are:

• The “Songs of the Fall” Concert, Friday, 4-6 p.m.

This Nashville-based Americana duo features Cia Cherryholmes, Grammy nominated musician on vocals, banjo and bouzouki and Pagosa born and raised Stetson Adkisson on vocals and guitar. Cherry began playing music at the age of 15, has toured internationally and has five Grammy nominations for her work. Stetson began singing and writing songs in college and played the singer-songwriter circuit throughout the West before teaming up with Cia to start Songs of the Fall. This concert is new to the fair lineup and will be located in the Activity Tent.

• Chuck Wagon Dinner, Saturday at 4:30 p.m.

This is the fund-raiser of the year for our 4-H youth and they will be serving up great barbecue beef brisket, sausage, sides and peach cobbler for only $10 per plate for ages 13-plus and $5 per plate for youth. Support Archuleta County 4-H and enjoy a delicious BBQ dinner. After the dinner, join us at the Junior Livestock Sale at 6, followed by the dance of the season featuring a local favorite group, The High Rollers.

• Cowboy Fast Draw State Championship finals Sunday, beginning at 9 a.m.

Come see some of the best gunfighters in the world shoot it out for the 2013 Colorado State Championship. Competition begins Thursday and concludes with the finals on Sunday.

• BBQ Cookoff, Sunday, 1-3:30 p.m.

Think you have the best BBQ recipe ever? Test your cooking talents by entering the BBQ contest on Saturday with competition and public sampling on Sunday afternoon. You’re sure to sample Pagosa’s best BBQ and enjoy an all-round good time.
