Michael Fredrick McCay died Thursday, May 9, 2013, in Pagosa Springs. He was 58.
Mr. McCay was born Oct. 6, 1954, in Birmingham, Ala., the son of Joe and Mable McCay. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam years. He married Debbie Key in 1990 in Birmingham. In 2003, Mr. McCay and his son moved to Pagosa Springs, where Mr. McCay worked in the construction trade.
Mr. McCay enjoyed the outdoors, and the family remembers many camping trips they took together. Fishing and spending time with his family was what he enjoyed most.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Debbie. He is survived by his son Mike (Ana) McCay of Durango, daughter Donna McCay of Hueytown, Ala., son Nicholas McCay of Hueytown, Ala., brother Billy McCay of Pleasant Grove, Ala., sister Jo McCay of Georgia, six grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Cremation has occurred at Hood Mortuary Crematory in Durango. No services are planned at this time.
