If there were a catch phrase at the May 21 work session concerning Archuleta County’s payment of Highway Users Tax Funding (HUTF) to metropolitan districts in Archuleta County, it would be, without a doubt, “fair and equitable.”
The phrase was uttered by Archuleta County commissioners and metro district representatives alike numerous times throughout the work session, which was held to discuss how to allocate to the districts a portion of the HUTF monies received by the county for roads maintained by and located within those districts.
