Erna V. Soroker, aged 90, passed away peacefully on April 23, 2013, at Pine Ridge Extended Care Center following a massive stroke. Erna was born in Harbin, China, the daughter of Vladimir and Helen Weinstein.
After coming to live with her daughter, Karen E. Harper, and son-in-law John M. Harper, Erna came to know and love all that Pagosa Springs has to offer, from the great outdoors, to the local theater and music departments. Erna’s great love was reading, and she would always look forward to her latest book selection arriving at the library. Erna also enjoyed the fellowship at Pagosa Bible Church, Crossroad Christian Fellowship and the peaceful beauty of Tara Mandala.
Erna is preceeded in death by her parents, Vladimir and Helen, husband Robert H. Soroker, and daughter Katherine Bowen.
Erna is survived by her son, Andrew J. Soroker of Pasadena, Calif., daughter Karen E Harper and son-in-law John M. Harper of Pagosa Springs.
