Colorado Parks and Wildlife will host a turkey hunting seminar and a youth/women’s turkey hunt.

The seminar will be held on April 19, from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Archuleta County Extension Office. The seminar is free, requires no registration and is open to anyone who is interested.

Seminar topics to be covered will include turkey biology, hunting strategies, gear, safety and ethics. The seminar is designed to recruit, encourage and instruct interested individuals in Colorado’s great hunting heritage.

Additionally, Colorado Parks and Wildlife will conduct a youth/women’s turkey hunt on April 20-21, following the seminar.

Limited spots are available for the hunt. To be eligible for the hunt, youth participants need to be 12-17 years old, possess a valid hunter safety card and possess a spring turkey hunting license. To apply for the hunt, please pick up a hunt application from the Colorado Parks and Wildlife Durango office or the USFS Pagosa Ranger District office in Pagosa Springs. All hunt applications are due by April 10.
