Special to The PREVIEW

St. Patrick’s Episcopal Church is offering parents of young children a rare opportunity to enjoy four wonderful hours of freedom for the amazing low price of only $5 per family.

On Thursday, Dec. 13, from 4:30–8:30 p.m., St. Patrick’s Episcopal Church is providing a special gift to parents — inexpensive childcare for their kids.  For the unheard of cost of only $5 per family, children will enjoy a hot dinner, crafts, games, music and other fun activities (no videos or parking kids in front of a TV screen), while parents enjoy the freedom to take in holiday festivities , wrap presents or just enjoy a holiday breather.

The Parents Night Out event for kids is being supervised by responsible adults, members of St. Patrick’s, whose director has completed the required Episcopal diocesan course entitled “Safeguarding God’s Children.”  There will be room for only 20 children (one adult for every four children), and parents will need to fill out a registration form before leaving their child.  Parents should stop by St. Patrick’s Episcopal Church, 225 S. Pagosa Blvd., to register now.

“Childcare expenses can be a real luxury at this time of year, when parents are already stretching budgets to the limits just to buy Christmas gifts,” says Lynne McCrudden, director of the event.  “We want to give parents the opportunity to enjoy some adult time, knowing their children are in good hands.”

Don’t wait to sign up your children.  At this price, slots will fill up quickly.  Give yourself an evening of pre-Christmas fun, knowing your children are in good hands and you are not spending your entire Christmas budget for the privilege.
