10-year sentence handed down for homicide

During an emotional and tearful hearing, Elizabeth Blan, of Farmington, N.M., was sentenced to 10 years in the Colorado Department of Corrections for a 2011 Archuleta County homicide.

Blan, 39, pleaded guilty to second-degree murder-heat of passion and one count of violation of bond conditions in late January.

The murder plea stems from the October 2011 death of Anthony Silva at a home along County Road 400.

I grew up with and dated anthony years ago. It is so sad to hear of these things. Does anyone even know what her reasoning is for stabbing him? He never hit or mistreated me, thats crazy. Im so shocked.
